News of Carter's trip broke one day after Carter told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution he was ready to listen to recruiting pitches.
“My plans are just to open it up now and then just see who wants to recruit me and then make a decision based on who’s recruited me and then who has what I want, who can help me achieve my goals the best,” he was quoted as saying.
Tech announced Tuesday that Carter was moving on after averaging 11.4 points and 8.4 rebounds as a sophomore. Tech was 9-4 when he went down with a knee injury last season and went 3-7 during his absence.
Carter is 6-8, 247 pounds and came to Tech from Thomasville, Ga.
