More importantly, he wants a pet panther. Can panthers be pets? Let’s ask Yahoo.

“Absolutely not. These are wild animals…house cats are domesticated…Panthers are far from. There are so many red flags I don’t even know where to start.”

So, yes.

Why does Nkemdiche want a pet panther? Here’s an excerpt from an in-depth interview with ESPN:

Some people may disagree with Nkemdiche and say panthers are dangerous. They’ll try and say things like “panthers will attack you if they see you why would you want a panther.” To that, all Nkemdiche has to do is open up YouTube and show them how adorable panthers are.

It’s insane.

“No, it’s not. They’re like cats.”

I’m sure Nkemdiche has an entire playlist of YouTube videos featuring panthers. There’s a line in his ESPN story where the writer begins a sentence with “a few hours after watching videos of panthers.” This man has spent hours watching panthers.

At this point, he deserves to own a pet panther. I mean, how much more dangerous is a panther than other pets? Last season we saw Jadeveon Clowney get bitten by D.J. Swearinger’s dog. From the very brief research I’ve done for this story, I’m convinced panthers are really just big kitties.

And if for some strange reason the panther misbehaves, Nkemdiche has a plan.

“If someone comes over and is scared, I’ll put the panther away.”
