According to The Guardian, the Italian will face an end-of-season review in Abu Dhabi, which is to be led by Khaldoon al-Mubarak, the chairman, and includes Ferran Soriano, the chief executive, and the director of football, Txiki Begiristain. It is reported that the club owner, Sheikh Mansour, has faith in Mancini and favours the Italian.

Mancini had signed a 5-year contract with the club last summer, but sources at the Etihad have been unable to confirm his place for next season. He entered this week with two crucial matches, one of them the Manchester derby, which his team won last night, and the other being the FA cup semi-final against Chelsea. Progress in the FA Cup could determine his future at City.

There are also issues in the form of his dealing with the players. Recent problems with his club captain, Vincent Kompany, and Nasri voicing concerns about the manager, could possibly have led to the review.
