The second baseman spoke to the New York Daily News on Saturday in the Dominican Republic, where he opened a Montessori school last month.

There have been rumblings in recent months that Cano wouldn’t mind a return to the Yankees, though the eight years and $192 million remaining on his contract make a move anywhere highly unlikely.
“I don’t want to comment on that because I don’t want to make a big deal about it,” Cano said. “Whoever says that, I don’t know why they say that.”
Whatever his level of commitment to Seattle, the six-time All-Star acknowledged that his stomach is not yet 100 percent. Cano said in an interview this summer that he has been bothered by a digestive ailment since being diagnosed with a parasite in October 2014. He told the Daily News that his stomach feels “a little better” but still isn’t back to normal.
Cano, who turned 33 in October, hit .287/.334/.446 and had a career-high 107 strikeouts in 2015.
