The biggest addition coming with the DLC is a stadium called Wasteland, which will be free to download, even for those that choose not to purchase the Chaos Run pack. A remake of the map of the same name from Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket Powered Battle Cars (Rocket League’s unfortunately titled predecessor), Wasteland will be one of the first stadiums for the game that will actually change the way people play Rocket League. As explained by Jeremy Dunham of Psyonix:
Those that want the entire Chaos Run experience will have to shell out $4, but it may be worth it to dedicated Rocket League players. For $4, fans can look forward to a variety of new customization options for their vehicles, as well as two new battle cars called Ripper and Grog, both of which would not look out of place in a Mad Max film.

Psyonix has done a great job at keeping the Rocket League community engaged and enthusiastic about the game thanks to DLC packs like Chaos Run. It definitely helps that the game has been supported with a combination of free updates along with enticing paid DLC, such as this and the Back to the Future Delorean car, which has kept the game feeling fresh since launch.
Releasing the game as a free PlayStation Plus title in its debut has proven to be a smart move, as that is really what has helped propel it to mainstream gaming recognition. Rocket League has since enjoyed over 5 million downloads, and with Psyonix continuing to support the game post-launch with meaty content packs like Chaos Run, Rocket League’s popularity shows no signs of slowing down any time soon.
